Kitenga luxury B&B in Clevedon, Auckland

After many years of planning and dreaming we have finally moved into our dream home.

This is no ordinary home.  It was designed by architect Jeff Gray and sits beautifully into the hill making the most of the view. We won a Gold medal in the "2007 House of the Year".

Our dream has always been to open our home to guests. We have designed a purpose built guest wing on one end of the house. It is designed to give our guests the best of the views and be private from the family home. There is no internal access between the house and the B&B.

The house is built in a secluded rural setting on 60 acres of farmland grazing cattle and horses. So there is plenty of room for a morning walk, either up the hill for even better views, or through the native bush.

The driveway is up through beautiful N.Z. native bush, abundant with native birds including Tui, Koreru, Fantail, Waxeye and Pukeko. You are greeted by panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf to Waiheke Island, Ponui Island and the Coromandel Peninsula, and out over the mouth of the Wairoa River.

We have a beautiful 20 meter lap pool , which is great to use for laps or just to splash around in for fun on a warm summer afternoon.

The B&B is a good size (approximately 100 sq meters) . It has two generously sized bedrooms, each with their own bathroom.  We have very comfortable, good quality queen  beds in each bedroom, fitted with quality sheets and duvet.

Between the bedrooms is a good sized, fully fitted kitchen and well furnished lounge. This will be shared by the guests.

The lounge has a great surround sound home theatre system, DVD and high definition LCD TV. There is Sky TV and a DVD player, and on request we can setup a Xbox 360 if you wish to try your hand at the latest Xbox 360 games. We also provide internet access for your laptop. We have furnished the lounge with a modern, comfortable Italian leather lounge suite. Great to sit and watch a DVD and enjoy a great glass of wine.

The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave oven, induction hob, fridge and dishwasher. If you choose you can cook dinner for yourselves. However there are a number of establishments in the area to enjoy a lovely restaurant meal.

We provide a delicious breakfast. All the ingredients are put in the kitchen the night before so you can have breakfast at what ever time and pace suits your needs. We provide cereals, bread, a selection of spreads, bacon and eggs if you wish to have a cooked breakfast, fruit juice and coffee/tea. (Espresso  coffee is a specialty)
